Bryan and I spent the last week or so traveling around the Boston area, doing research for my latest writing project. A good friend recommended Concord, so we stayed several nights there and fell in love with the town! We toured Orchard House, the home of Louisa May Alcott, author of one of my favorite novels, Little Women.  She wrote about the things that really matter in life with such power and emotion. “I like strong words,” she said, “that mean something.”

She and her family had a clear vision of how to live fully. “Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.”

“I want to do something splendid. Something heroic or wonderful that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead…I think I shall write books.”

“That is a good book it seems to me, which is opened with expectation and closed with profit.”

I hope that is what my books are for someone.
